Over the years, M. J. Hester have collected together many awards, certificates and press coverage.
David Wilson Homes Quality Construction Awards 2005

At a prestigious awards dinner held at the Hilton NEC Birmingham, on Friday 27th January 2006, M. J. Hester scooped 1st place, and were awarded 'Contractor/Supplier of the Year Award Northern Region 2005' from David Wilson Homes.
M. J. Hester have been working for David Wilsons for over a decade now and were delighted to have won this award, and to be recognised in such a way is extremely pleasing.

Judge's comments from the 1997 Plasterers' Trophy Award:
'New buildings for Leeds Grammar School have been plastered using straightforward and traditional skills. Of all the schemes seen this year, this one met all the criteria for the ordinary work of the trade carried out excellently, notably the circular hall lit by a critical glass dome.... M. J. Hester Plasterers are awarded the Northern Regional Award for their sound plastering of Leeds Grammar School.'
M. J. Hester have also featured on TV with the Yorkshire Television Action Time Challenge.
The company helped Ravenscliffe High School in Halifax to plaster out a renovated building in their school grounds.
Some of the plastering team involved were interviewed by Y.T.V. and the program was shown over a period of four evenings on prime time television.

"On the up; Joe Hester and his brother Tony are climbing to the top of their profession. Their company, M. J. Hester Plasterers has won the Federation of Plasterers Northern Regional Award for their work on the new Leeds Grammar School building. Joe, managing director of the family business, pictured with his brother in the stairwell of the school's Sixth Form centre, said, 'I am extremely pleased that our work should be recognised in this way. the award not only pays tribute to the high quality work our tradesmen produce, but it also acknowledges the importance of a strong, professional management team.' "
"M. J. Hester Plasterers was founded by Joe's father and has grown into a major contractor. The company, which employs more than 100 people, also carried out work on the Leeds Royal Armouries Museum."
